Company
Our history dates back to 1870, when our Japanese founder, Yataro Iwasaki, started a shipping company with three steamships. The company grew from strength to strength, and in 1914, registered the Mitsubishi three-diamond trademark. This symbol embodies over 130 years of tradition, and has earned the confidence and trust of customers all over the world.

We take great pride from knowing that over 11 million people around the world have chosen to drive our vehicles. It's what inspires us to go the extra mile and develop new technology and ground-breaking safety systems that challenge convention.

MIVEC (Mitsubishi Innovative Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control) Engines
The MIVEC engine matches your driving style to minimise fuel consumption at lower revs while increasing air-flow at high revs for greater performance.

MATT™ System
Our MATT™ (Mitsubishi All Terrain Technology) system incorporates a range of advanced technology systems to enhance driving control. These include:
  •  Super Select 4WD or All Wheel Control
  •  Active Stability Control (ASC)
  •  Active Traction Control (ATC)
  •  Multi-mode Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)
  •  Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD)
  •  Engine Brake Assist Control  (EBAC)

INVECS 'Smart Logic'
The INVECS (Intelligent and Innovative Vehicle Electronic Control System) 'Smart Logic' improves performance by automatically switching between logic controls. An onboard computer learns and adapts to a driver’s preferences by recording engine and foot braking data. The control logic then adapts the automatic gearshift timing to suit that driver's style, while minimising torque function fluctuation. Sports Mode, on the other hand, allows the driver to flick the gear shift sideways and then start shifting up and down gears, enjoying the performance of a slick, clutch-less manual or return to the convenience of an automatic.

Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT)
CVT is an automatic transmission electronically integrated with the MIVEC engine to ensure your vehicle is always operating in the best gear ratio. CVT offers infinitely variable ratios that allow the engine to always operate at optimum rpm, irrespective of speed - and also ensures a smooth transition between gears.

Sports Mode
Sports mode offers the ease and convenience of an automatic or the control and flexibility of a clutch-less manual. And no clutch means you don’t lose revs or torque.

Smart Key
Smart Key is Mitsubishi’s advanced security transmitter, which means completely key-less operation. Smart Key, available in top-end Lancer and Outlander models, can recognise the key occupant within a 70cm radius. So, you can lock and unlock the doors, open the boot and even start the engine, all whilst the Smart Key is still tucked in your pocket or bag. The days of searching and fumbling for keys are no longer.

Dusk Sensing Headlamps
Found within Lancer, Outlander and Pajero  models, Dusk Sensing Headlamps  do the thinking for you so you can stay focused on the road at all times. Your lights automatically come on when it gets dark outside or when you’re travelling through a tunnel.

Auto Rain Sensing Wipers
Various Lancer,  Outlander and Pajero models  come equipped with Rain Sensing Wipers. A sensor automatically detects moisture on the windscreen, and according to the amount of rain present, the system will activate the wipers at the appropriate speed.

In addition to the comprehensive range of benefits included as part of your Diamond Advantage Warranty, you can be confident your Mitsubishi is equipped with a range of valuable features and innovations.

In addition, all Mitsubishi vehicles offer the latest in fuel efficiency, running costs and build quality - making them exceptional value for money.]]>
Every Mitsubishi has been designed with ultimate passenger safety as a priority. This is achieved through several key innovations:

RISE (Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution) technology
This unique body design absorbs energy at the front of the vehicle, and surrounds all occupants with a strong, rigid cell that offers outstanding protection in the event of an accident. In addition, high tensile steel bars in the doors - and energy absorbing material in the roof rail and side panels - offer the driver and passengers another layer of protection.

SRS Airbags
SRS Airbags are fitted for driver and front passengers in all our vehicles. Side, curtain and knee airbags are also available in some models for additional protection.  Extended airbags are also available on some models, including the Colt, Lancer and Grandis.

Active Traction Control (ATC)
ATC helps a vehicle maintain traction on the most slippery or rugged of surfaces. It automatically controls the engine's output - so driving wheels are prevented from spinning. Sensing loss of traction in independent wheels, ATC applies braking force to that particular wheel and sends extra power and torque to other wheels with traction to keep the vehicle moving.

Active Stability Control (ASC)
ASC ensures stability and prevents loss of control when cornering. ASC automatically recognises 'under steer' and 'over steer', and applies braking to the diagonal wheel to keep your vehicle on line through corners - even in the most difficult of situations.

Seatbelt systems
Our innovative seatbelt systems include pre-tensioners and force limiters, which hold occupants firmly in their seats and help minimise serious injury in the event of an accident. In some models, ALR seatbels are also fitted in the rear to help secure child capsules.

Anti-Intrusion Brake Pedals
In the event of a front-on collision, the brake pedal automatically moves away from the vehicle to reduce possible leg injury.

Handling Dynamics
We’ve learned a lot from developing the Evolution models for Rally, where handling is critical for success. The innovative suspension developments we've made in our Rally participation have found their way into every vehicle in our range.

Turbo Performance
We are one of the world's leading turbo manufacturers and designers. Our developments are tested throughout the globe in supremely challenging rally championships. Turbo-charging technology lies at the heart of both the Evolution and Colt Turbo, giving both awesome power and torque. The Evolution IX features a 2.0L MIVEC delivering 206kW and 255Nm, and boasts revised induction piping, race style filter and titanium exhaust.

Styling
Every Mitsubishi vehicle in the range, including our 4WDs, features fresh, sporty and dynamic styling, inside and out.]]>
